Abstract
Elderly is someone who has reached 60 years and above both men and women. Globally the United Nations (UN) has predicted further assessment of up to 2.6% when the elderly arise various problems both general and specific. The low number of elderly visits to Posyandu causes them to be less able to monitor their health status because they tend to experience symptoms of degenerative diseases due to weak physical factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the affecting factors on the utilization of posyandu for the elderly in Working Area of Besitang Health Center, Besitang Sub District, Langkat District in 2017.
The type of quantitative method research is analytical research with case control research design. This study was conducted at Besitang Health Center, Besitang Sub District, Langkat District and it was done on June to September 2017. The populations in this study were all elderly in Working Area of Besitang Health Center, Besitang Sub District, Langkat District as many as 1245 people and the sample in this study is stratified random sampling technique, so the sample in this study was 100 people. The data in this study was analyzed by using chi-square test and multiple regression.
The result of the study showed that there was a relationship of knowledge with p-value of 0.031, distance with p-value of 0.045, family motivation with p-value of 0.009, motivation of employees with p-value of 0.044 and no relationship of attitudes with p-value of 0.275 with utilization elderly Posyandu.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is the relationship of knowledge, distance, family motivation, health care workers to the services of elderly Posyandu in Working Area of Besitang, Besitang Sub District, Langkat District. It is expected to the Health Center to plan other program activities such as consolidation Posyandu in once a year which is equipped with activities without ignoring promotive and preventive of Elderly Posyandu utilization.
