Abstract
Breastmilk is the best liquid life needed by babies. However, not finding the ability to give breastmilk to Surabaya is related to reason and the problem of producing breastmilk is not smooth. Data obtained from the Simeulue Regency in 2017 showed that exclusive breastfeeding amounted to 39.4%. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of maternal factors, frequency of feeding, breast care, birth weight, type of pregnancy and age factor on breastmilk production in the North Sumatra District in 2018.
This research is a quantitative study with an analytical survey design with cross-sectional design. The population of this study is that all materials have a significant amount in 2018 amounted 56 maternals and all of the population is used as samples. Data collection techniques are primary, secondary and tertiary data plus an in-depth interview. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate with Chi-square test and multivariate with logistic regression test.
The results of the study showed that the majority of consumption was 35 people (62.5%), frequency of irregularity was disbursed amounted 30 people (53.6%), breast care was not considered good with 30 people (53.6%), birth weight >2500 grams as many as 42 people (75.0%), type of delivery through SC were 31 people (55 , 4%), age of pregnancy was> 37 weeks, 43 people (76.8%) and breast milk production were not 32 people (57.1%).
It can be concluded that the effect of intermittent mother (sig .035), frequency of feed (sig .010), breast care (sig .038), type of delivery (sig .031) and no effect on body weight of birth (sig .983), age of pregnancy (sig .255) on breastmilk production. It is recommended that the health staff at Simeulue District Hospital continue to invite the community to support government programs related to breastfeeding and educate the mother to increase milk production and not rely on formula at the time of the bird milk.
