The sampling technique used total sampling, namely the entire population as a sample of 32 respondents. The data collection with primary, secondary and tertiary data. The data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis and tested by using the chi-square test.
The majority of mothers who have babies aged 7-12 months were in the sufficient category as many as 16 respondents (50.0%), the minority was in the good category as many as respondents (15.6%), which supports as many as 14 respondents (43.8%) and that did not support as many as 18 respondents (56.2%). The results of cross tabulation analysis in this study with the results of chi-square test at 95% confidence level with α = 0.05 and sig p = 0.020 for knowledge and 0.034 for support.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and family support with exclusive breastfeeding at Desa Btangonang of Paluta District in 2018.
