Abstract
The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding each year has increased and in 2017 it reached 85% in the area of the Lamno health center, but there were some mothers who were constrained in giving exclusive breastfeeding so that the mother did not give exclusive breastfeeding to the baby. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of education, work, knowledge, health education, economic level of family support, on exclusive breastfeeding.
The design of this study was an analytical survey research with a cross sectional approach, where the study population was 120 people with a sample of 55 respondents of mothers who had babies aged 7-12 months in the work area of the Lamno Jaya Public Health Center, the research instrument was questionnaire with analysis univariate and bivariate data with chi-square test and multivariate with linear regression test.
The results of this study used Chi-square test obtained p-value of education (p = 0.010), occupation (p = 0.010), knowledge (p = 0.020), health education (p = 0.020), economic level (p = 0.015), and support family (p = 0.025), exclusive breastfeeding and as a result of multiple linear regression obtained OR as much as 7.024.
The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence between the variables that are determined and the most influential variables, namely education amounted 7 times and suggested to officers to conduct health promotion which aims to further enhance the role of mothers in giving exclusive breastfeeding and raise awareness for mothers who have babies about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for babies and also mother
