Abstract
Smoking has become a habit now. It is from this custom, the ever-increasing association, the enormous amount today in the environment of people who have become addicted to cigarettes. Initially eager to experiment, trend, lifestyle, and have fun as a form of socialization needs to his group. The purpose of this research is to know the influence with video media to increase the knowledge and attitude about cigarette to students in SMP PAB 2 Helvetia Year 2017.
The research design used was interventional / experimental research using quasi experimental. The population in this study are students of class VII SMP PAB 2 Helvetia as many as 168 people. The sample is total sampling. Data analysis using t-dependent test.
The results showed that there was influence with video media to improve students' knowledge on pupils (p = 0,000) and improve attitudes about cigarettes to students (p = 0,000)
There was influence with video media to improve students' knowledge (p = 0,000) and improve attitudes about smoking to students (p = 0,000). Therefore, to improve the knowledge and attitude of students about cigarettes, it is necessary to be given extension of video media such as video animation media for students online.
