Abstract
Menarche is the first age of menstruation, currently tends to be earlier when compared to the previous generation and applies to all teenagers. Early age of menarche will have an increased risk of cancer and cause early pregnancy. In the United States, The average age of menarche was more than 14 years before 1900 and between 1988 and 1994 decreased to 12.43 years. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between nutritional status and average menarche in tenagegirls in SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli Deli Serdang District in 2018.
The research design was an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach which aim to determine the relationship between nutritional status and tenage girls of menarche in SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli in 2018. The population was 137 female students who experienced menarche. Sampling in this study use the total of population, The entire population of 137 female students.
The results showed that the majority of nutritional status was found in the normal category (> 18.0-25.0), the majority of menarche was obtained at the age of 11-13 years and the chi-square test results obtained p = 0.000 (p <0.05) . So that there is a relationship between nutritional status and age of menarche.
The conclusion of this study there is a relationship between nutritional status and age of menarche. For health workers are expected to provide information to young women to know good nutrition and enough to be consumed by their bodies. Nutritional status is said to be good if the nutrients needed for protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins and water are used as needed.
