Abstract
Every month periodically, a normal woman will experience a reproductive period called menstruation, which is the decay of endometrial tissue because there is no mature egg fertilized by sperm. These events are natural and natural so that it can be ascertained that all normal women will experience menstrual problems, including menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). The aim of the study was to determine the relationship of knowledge with dysmenorrhea treatment on female adolescent at Tunas Pelita junior high school Binjai in 2018.
The design of this study used an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The total population were taken from all girls in Tunas Pelita junior high school Binjai amounted 89 students. And a random sampling technique where sampling were done by taking respondents who experienced random dysmenorrhea as many as 56 female students. The research analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis by using Chi-Square test.
The results showed that the majority of young women's knowledge was in the less category amounted 26 respondents (46.4%), and those who did not handle dysmenorrhea were 37 respondents (66.1%). Chi-Square test results p-value =0.,000, which means that p-value < .05, this showed that Ha is accepted so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge with dysmenorrhea treatment in adolescent girls.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between knowledge with dysmenorrhea treatment in adolescent girls at Tunas Pelita junior high school Binjai in 2018. It is suggested to give information to young women about treatment of dysmenorrhea, so that young women are able to handle it appropriately and can reduce the intensity of pain due to dysmenorrhea.
