Abstract
Paranginan Health Center is known to have data of 1652 toddlers. Meanwhile, the number of children who attend early childhood education (PAUD) in 16 education units is 565 people aged 3-5 years. However, the results of developmental detection in some PAUD non-education children lack the screening service for early detection of disorders and irregularities in child development. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of midwives about the use of SDIDTK with the detection of child development problems in the work area of Paranginan Health Center.
The research design was a descriptive analytic survey with a cross sectional study design. The study sample was 43 midwives who worked in the Paranginan Health Center work area.
The results showed that the midwife's knowledge variables based on statistical tests obtained Pearson Chi-Square values were .001 smaller than the significance level α = 0.05 and the midwife's attitude variable about SDIDTK had a significant relationship with early detection of child development problems where p <α 5%, ie 0.002 <0.05.
The conclusion of the study that the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of midwives about the use of SDIDTK with early detection of child development problems was found. It is recommended for Midwives who work in the Paranginan Community Health Center to increase knowledge in each health program including the use of SDIDTK.
