Abstract
breastfeeding activity in Indonesia has become a culture but it is still far from expected practically. The reason exclusive breast milk is not given because of lack of production the it can be launched by consuming Katuk leaves Breast milk (ASI) is a food source that contains complete nutrition for babies, with a composition that suits the needs of the baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of consumption of katuk leaves on the increase of breast milk ramification on breastfeeding mothers to babies aged of in 0-6 months in the Stabat Subdistrict Langkat District in 2018.
The type of this research was a quantitative research with Squat Experiments with one group pretest and post test without control design. The population in this study were taken amounted 15 respondents with a total population. Data analysis were done by using Paired t-test.
The results of the study there are differences in the average value of treatment before and after the intervention in the group before treatment – first treatment with a value of -7.2 ± 1.94, before treatment – second treatment with a value of -17.2 ± 2.36, before treatment – third Treatment with a value of -29.6 ± 3.26 and Before Treatment – fourth Treatment with a value of -44.8 ± 5.20. Statistical test results obtained Sig (2-tailed) = 0,000 <0,05.
The conclusion of this study was that there is an influence between consumption of katuk leaves and increasing of breast milk ramification. It is suggested to health workers are expected to participate in informing the benefits of katuk leaves in order to increase the milk production during ANC visitation, so that the problem of non-smooth breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers can be reduced.
