Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women when hemoglobin is less than 11 g / dl. Anemia is a condition in which red blood cells decrease so that the capacity of oxygen carrying capacity for the needs of vital organs in the mother and fetus is reduced. Impacts that occur due to anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy are abortion, missed abortion and congenital abnormalities, in the second trimester can cause premature labor, antepartum hemorrhage, fetal growth disorders in the uterus, asphyxia, low birth weight, low IQ and even infant mortality. Iron deficiency anemia which is lack of food intake or nutrition due to poverty or low socioeconomic status, lack of knowledge, presence of certain diseases.
This study aims to determine the factors that influence anemia in pregnant women in Kuta Baro Aceh Besar Public Health Center in 2018. This study used dependent variable, namely the incidence of anemic and independent variables, namely age, parity, ANC visits, knowledge and opinions. This analytical survey study with a cross sectional study design aimed at finding out the factors that influence the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Kuta Baro Community Health Center in Aceh Besar District. The population of this study was all pregnant women in the Working Area of Kuta Baro Community Health Center, Aceh Besar District. The samples of this study amounted to 55 respondents. The sampling technique used Accidental Sampling technique.
The results of 55 respondents mostly did not experience anemia (normal) as many as 33 respondents (60%) and a minority experienced anemia as many as 6 respondents (10.9%).
The conclusions from the results of the study that there is no correlation between age, parity towards anemia in pregnant women in Puskesmas Kuta Baro Aceh Besar and ANC visits (p-value 0,000), knowledge (p-value 0.001) and income (0.009) on anemia in pregnant women in Kuta Baro Aceh Besar Health centre. After multivariate analysis, it was found that the ANC visit variables most affected the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.it is suiggested to helath centre to make a policy and improve the quality of services for pregnant women by applying and providing information to pregnant women about prevention of anemia.
