Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the PTM with a high number of cases. World DM
incidence from year to year continues to increase, the latest data from the World Health
Organization (WHO) shows in 2000 as many as 150 million people of the world suffer from DM
and this number will be doubled in 2025. Based on the results of preliminary surveys at Puskesmas
Punggak District Pangakatan Labuhanbatu District known to the number of people with Type II
diabetes mellitus in 2016 as many as 51 people with new cases as many as 15 people and increased
in 2017 as many as 68 people with new cases as many as 20 people
The aim of this research is to know the health promotion factor to the success of blood
glucose control in type II diabetes mellitus patients at Pangkat Health Center Pangakatan Subdistrict,
Labuhanbatu Regency, 2018. The research used quasi-experimental design with pretest
and posttest method in one group (One - Group Pretest - Posttest design). Population is type II
diabetes mellitus patients as much as 68 people. Sampling in this research was done by non
probability sampling technique of consecutive sampling. Data analysis was done by univariate
analysis, bivariate using paired t test
The result showed that from 68 respondents before health promotion to the success of
blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus controlled and non controlled
category that was 68 people (100%), after health promotion to the success of blood glucose control
in patients with diabetes mellitus type II controlled category that is 41 people (60.3%) and
uncontrolled the year is 27 people (39.7%).
Conclusion there is influence of health promotion to the success of blood glucose control
in type II diabetes mellitus patient at Pangkat Health Center Panggakatan District Labuhanbatu
Year 2018. It is suggested for Pangkatan Puskesmas in improving health promotion in type II
diabetes mellitus patient in controlling blood sugar level regularly
