Abstract
The control of the population is the government’s priority in the effort of maintain the welfare of the community as well as the family planning program for fertile age couple. The data showed that if hormonal receptors of family planning still dominate in Indonesia. For good population control, it is necessary to accelerate againts non-hormonal family planning.
The study used analytical survey design with cross-sectional approaches. Variables independent in politics and science, age, employment status, religion, numbers of people, education, knowledge, planning for family planning, funds, patrons, local understanding, social services and health services, are connected with the family planning method. The respondents were 89 family planning acceptors in the subdistrict of Rantau who were the regions of the City of Rantau Health Opportunity.
The research showed that the majority of respondents prefer hormonal birth control compared to non-hormonal family planning. The predisposing factors included in this research model are age, occupation, education. But in the last stage, only the work variables showed a significant relationship with the FP method (p<0,05).
It is recommended to increase education of family planning acceptors for the use of non-hormonal family planning by involving all social and social stakeholders in the community.
