Abstract
Breast care is an action to treat the breast, especially during the puerperium to facilitate breast miolk, treatments performed on the breast in order to breastfeeding. Based on data in Pratama Niar Clinic Medan in the implementation of breast care from july to November 2017 as many as 30 respondents (70.0%) where most mothers did not do breast care during chilidbirth. The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship of kmowledge and attitude about breast care on postpartum martenity in Pratama Niar Clinic Medan in 2017.
This research used analytic survey design with cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all postpartum marternities as many as 30 respondents and the sample were taken from all population. Data collection techmiques are primary, secondary, and tertiary. Data analysis were done by using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-squere test statistic.
The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents were less kmowledgeable (46.7%), knowledgeable (33.3%), and knowledgeable (20.0%). The result of statistical test shows the knowledge of p value of 0,020 and attitude variable has p value 0,001. It can be concluded that there is a relatiomship of knowledge and attitude with breast care in Pratama Clinic Niar Medan in 2017.
It is suggested to health workeds to furthes improve the health service especially about breast health during childbirth, so with increasing health care about breast care, breastfeeding problems due to martenal breast disorders during childbirth.
