Abstract
One of the factors that happened was the disruption of breastmilk flume that will cause the breastmilk inhibition. World Health Organitation (WHO) in 2013 in the United States the percentage of breastfeeding women who experienced breastmilk inhibition averaged 87,05% or 8,242 postpartum mothers from 12,765 people. In 2014 mothers who experience breastmilk inhibition were 7,198 people out of 10,764 people and in 2015 mothers who experienced breastmilk inhibition were 6,543 people out of 9,862 people. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of postpartum maternals’ knowledge and attitude of breastmilk inhibition care at pratama sejati clinik in 2018.
The type of this study was analytic survey with cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were all primiparous postpartum mothers from July to September as many as 32 people with a total population sample. Data analysis were done by using univariate analysis in the form of bivariate frequency distribution with chi-square at 95% confidence level.
The results showed that most of the mothers’ knowledge in dealing with breastfeeding was less than 22 people (68.8)and postpartum mothers’ attitudes were negative , namely 23 people (71.9). Statistical test results showed a relationship between postpartum mothers’ knowledge and attitudes about breast care with breastmilk inhibition with α value of ρ = 0.001.
The conclusion of this study is the relationship between postpartum mothers’ knowledge and attitudes about breastmilk inhibition care at Pratama Sejati clinik in 2018 was found. It is expected that health workers continue to provide health information and information, especially for pregnant women. Childbirth and postpartum mothers so that mothers better understand how to overcome the breastmilk inhibition.
