Abstract

Hyperemesis gravidarum in Indonesia reaches 14.8% of all pregnancies. Complaints of nausea and vomiting occur in 60-80% primigravida and 40-60% multigravida. 10 pregnant women who experience hyperemesis gravidarum in BPM Nurmalinda. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of knowledge and family support with hyperemesis gravidarum in BPM Nurmalinda 2018.
The research design used was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The population used was all pregnant women in the third trimester in BPM Nurmalinda as many as 47 pregnant women. The sample used was a total sample of 47 pregnant women. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with chi-square test.
From the results of the study 47 respondents (100%), the knowledge of the majority of respondents was sufficient knowledge, 10 respondents (21.3%) experienced and 11 respondents (23.4%) did not experience hyperemesis gravidarum. Of the 47 respondents, the majority of 31 respondents (66.0%) did not get the support of families who experienced hyperemesis gravidarum as many as 25 respondents (53.2%) and those who did not experience as many as 6 respondents (12.8%), obtained there was a relationship of knowledge and family support with hyperemesis gravidarum.
The conclusion of the study is the relationship between knowledge and family support with hyperemesis gravidarum. It is expected that health workers will improve the quality and quality of good services for pregnant women and the community (families) and improve existing services, especially in the event of hyperemesis Gravidarum.
