Abstract

Nutritional awareness is a balanced nutrition behavior, able to recognize and overcome nutritional problems. The number of patient visits at the KIA health center Peusangan Health Center in 2017 reached 515 people, of which 182 pregnant women were anemic, 141 experienced SEZ (chronic energy deficiency) and weight did not increase. This is due to a lack of nutritional awareness behavior.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge, attitudes, family income, disease history, customs, family support, and ANC implementation on nutritional conscious behavior in pregnant women in peusangan health center in 2018. This type of research is a mixed method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. A qualitative approach is a phenomenon from a quantitative approach, which is an analytic observational study with a specific frequency. The population of this study are all pregnant women who made a visit when the researchers conducted the study, namely amounted 37 respondents. The quantitative approach sample amounted 37 respondents by using total sampling technique. The qualitative sample consisted of 3 pregnant women, 3 husbands and 1 midwife. Quantitative data analysis was univariate, bivariate, and multivariate, while qualitative analysis data carried out data validity and conclusion drawing.
The results showed that there was a relationship between nutritional conscious behavior with knowledge, attitudes, family support and the implementation of ANC in pregnant women. There is no relationship between nutritional conscious behavior with income, history of illness and customs in pregnant women. The dominant knowledge variable influences the Exp (B) value which is higher than the other variables. The results of multiple logistic regression test with the value of Overall percentage = 97.3%.
It is recommended for pregnant women to increase knowledge about nutritional awareness through electronic media and print media, besides being expected to attend if there are counseling meetings or posyandu in the village that convey health information, especially about nutrition awareness.
