Abstract
Blush on in the market uses a lot of synthetic dyes that can cause irritation to the skin. Synthetic dyes on blush can be replaced using natural dyes. One of these natural dyes from the extract of Tamarillofruit. Tamarillo(Solanum betaceum) has anthocyanin substances that can be used as natural dyes and has natural antioxidant compounds such as vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, and E. The aim of the study was to find out the production of blush on of the natural color of Tamarillo(Solanum betaceum ) in compact form.
This research method used experimental methods. Extraction of Tamarillo(Solanum betaceum) used the maceration method. The extracts made were made in compact form. Tests were carried out at concentrations of 0%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Tests on preparations made include homogeneity test, hedonic test, irritation test and pH test.
The results showed that the homogeneous blush on form at a concentration of 15% and some were not homogeneous at concentrations of 20% and 25%. The hedonic test showed that form with a concentration of 15% were most preferred by volunteers. The irritation test showed that the blush on gave negative results, that was, there was no irritation in the volunteers. The pH test showed the pH of 5.6 - 6.4.
The conclusion from the results obtained that the Tamarillo extract (Solanum betaceum) can be formulated as a natural dye in blush on form in compact form. It was recommended that the researchers can then make a formulation of blush on form of natural dyes of Tamarillo(Solanum betaceum) in the form of blush gel.
