Abstract
Background; Teenagers are a transitional period from childhood. Another definition explains that adolescents are population groups aged 10-19 years (definition according to WHO and Ministry of Health) or 10-24 years (according to UNFPA) and are not married. Some adolescents are experiencing the maturity of reproductive organs and can function or reproduce, but they are socially and mentally immature. Objectives; The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency distribution of the level of knowledge of young women about Personal Hygiene during menstruation before and after being given counseling and the influence of counseling. Method; The design of this study uses one group pre-post test. a test that involves two measurements on the same subject for a particular treatment. The research population of all young women was 32 people, with the sampling technique of the entire population. The data used is primary data. Data analysis used is univariate analysis with alternative test of paired t test, namely Wilcoxon test.Results; Based on the results of the study there are differences in the average value of knowledge of young women about personal hygiene during menstruation before and after the implementation of counseling, namely from 0.50 to 1.84. Wilcoxon test results obtained A-Symp Sig (2-tailed) value is 0.00. Conclusion; It can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the knowledge of young women about personal hygiene during menstruation before and after counseling.
