Abstract
Along with the development of the era Nutritional problems in Indonesia are not only a problem of malnutrition but have entered into multiple nutritional problems. Obesity is one of the most serious challenges. Obesity in children is a medical condition characterized by body weight above the average body mass index (BMI) above normal. The purpose of this study was to find out what were the most dominant factors affecting the incidence of obesity on students in Sigli State 1 Elementary School Pidie District 2018.
The research design used a quantitative analytical survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were students in in sigli state 1 elementary school pidie district 2018 class IV, V, and VI which amounted to 72 students, sampling in this study used total sampling techniques and the test used in this study was multiple logistic regression test.
The results showed that the variables that had the most dominant influence on the incidence of obesity in students of In Sigli State 1 Elementary School Pidie District 2018 were physical activity variables p-value .006 < .05 and OR value 36.5, meaning that mild physical activity opportunities had as much obesity as possible 36.5 times compared to genetic variables, family income and family size.
The conclusion of this study is that physical activity is the most dominant factor affecting the incidence of obesity in school children in SD Negeri 1 Sigli, Pidie Regency. It is suggested for teachers in schools to improve student activities to be more active by taking gymnastics students in the morning and being active in sports lessons.
