Abstract
Background; Menopause is a stage that will be experienced in a woman's life when she is no longer fertile and it is marked by menstrual cessation. In Indonesia, in 2025 is estimated that women who will experience menopause reach 60 million people. Pre menopausal syndrome (menopausal problem) is experienced by many women throughout the world and one of them is in Indonesia. The Purpose; of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge of pre menopausal mothers about menopause with the anxiety in facing menopause at Desa Batang pane 1, East Halongonan Sub District, Paluta District. Method; The type of this research is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach and a total population of 202 thousand aged 40-55 years who are still menstruating. Samples totaling 67 pre-menopausal mothers were taken by simple random sampling technique. The data collection was done by spreading anxiety scale against menopause and a knowledge questionnaire about menopause. Result; Based on the results of the study using chi-square test with a confidence level of 95% that there was a relationship of knowledge of pre-menopausal mothers with the anxiety in facing menopause with p = 0.038 (p <0.05) with the majority of mothers having less knowledge as many as 46 people and the majority experienced in moderate anxiety. Conclusion; this study shows that there is a relationship of knowledge of pre menopausal mothers with the anxiety in facing menopause.
