Abstract

Background; Perineal injury is a wound caused by an episiotomy. Episiotomy is an incision of the perineum to facilitate labor and prevent perineal totalis rupture. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2014, it was explained that around 800 women die from complications of pregnancy or childbirth around the world every day. Objectives; The purpose of this study was to determine whether the relationship of postpartum mothers knowledge about the treatment of perineal wounds with perineal wound healing in the Work Area of the Samadua Health Center UPTD South Aceh District in 2018. Method; The design of this study uses analytical survey method with cross sectional approach. Research location in UPTD Puskesmas Samadua South Aceh District in 2018. The population in this study were 35 respondents who experienced perineal wounds. Sampling in this study using total population where all populations were sampled as many as 35 respondents. Results; The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge about the treatment of perineal wounds and the healing of perineal wounds in the work area of the UPTD Puskesmas Samadua South Aceh District in 2018 with the results of the statistic using the Chi-Square test that is p-value = 0.001 <0.05 meaning that there is a significant between knowledge of postpartum mothers with healing of perineal wounds. Conclusion; The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge of postpartum mothers about the treatment of perineal wounds with perineal wound healing in the UPTD Puskesmas Samadua South Aceh District in 2018.
