Abstract
A study in Indonesia involving women who had just given birth showed that 20 percent of these women had little or no enthusiasm for sexual intercourse for up to three months of childbirth, while 21 percent said that they had no desire to make love. One factor that influences postpartum sexual relations is the lack of information about sex after childbirth. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of health workers and information media with post-partum maternal sexual behavior in Lageun Health Center, Aceh Jaya District in 2018.
This research is a survey research with cross sectional approach with a postpartum whole population (60 to 180 days after childbirth) in Lageun Health Center, Aceh Jaya District from June to July 2018 as many as 40 people The samples of this study were all the total population. The data was collected by questionnaire and analyzed by using chi-square statistics test.
The results showed that the majority of maternal post-partum did not have sexual intercourse (55%), there was a relationship between the role of health workers with post-partum maternal sexual behavior (P = 0.005), and there was a relationship between information media and post-partum maternal behavior (P = 0.005).
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between the role of health workers and information media with post-partum moternal sexual behavior. It is expected to the health workers to provide information to new mothers about postpartum sexual relations.
