Abstract
The development of sexuality in adolescence begins when interaction between the opposite sex, whether the interaction between friends and interactions when dating. The role of parents complements and prepares children to maturity by providing guidance and direction that can help the child in living a life. This study aims to determine the relationship of predisposing factors, supporting factors and reinforcement factors with the role of parents in providing sex education to students in SMP Negeri 01 Kutalimbaru Tahun 2017. This type of research is an analytic survey. The sample of the study was 188 people. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square analysis test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, level of education, economic level, source of information, experience of getting sex education with the role of parents in providing sex education for students of SMP Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru, with p value for knowledge p = 0,000 attitude p value 0,000, education level with p value 0,005, economic level with p value 0,002, information source with p value 0,000, experience getting sex education with p value 0,001. For the local health office or community health center, it is advisable to socialize about sex education for children to increase the positive opinion of the public about sex education for children. Media that can be used as a medium of socialization about sex education for children is the print media such as local newspapers or magazines and electronic media in the form of advertising on television.
