Abstract
Free sex is a relationship between men and women without marriage. According to WHO data, globally teenage childbirth rates in 2015 were 441 per 1000 girls aged 15-19 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the environment and knowledge of adolescents with free sex at SMA Negeri 12 Medan in 2018.
The research design was analytic survey with cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were 1010 students, a sample of this study amounted 91 respondents, the sampling technique was simple random sampling. The analysis of the study used univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test.
The results of this study showed that 43 respondents (47.3%) had environmental frequency distribution in adolescents, the majority of adolescents had sufficient knowledge as many as 41 respondents (45.1%), teenagers had free sex as many as 51 respondents (56.0%), with testing Chi-square obtained a significant relationship between the environment, in adolescents with free sex with a value of ρ value = 0.002 <α = 0.05 and knowledge in adolescents with free sex with a value of ρ value = 0.004 <α = 0.05.
The conclusion in this study is that the relationship between the environment and knowledge of adolescents with free sex at state of senior high school 12 Medan in 2018. It is expected that adolescents can increase their knowledge of premarital sex, so that they are more responsible for attitudes and behavior so that they are not prone to premarital sex.
