Abstract
Hospitals as health service agencies that deal directly with patients must prioritize safe, quality, anti-discrimination and effective health services by prioritizing the interests of patients in accordance with hospital service standards. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence nurse compliance in the application of hand hygiene.
The study design used the Alitic survey method with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted at the inpatient installation of Gunungsitoli District Hospital. Nias Year 2018. The population in this study was 165 people. The sample was set as many as 117 respondents. Data analysis was univariate, bivariate and multivariate using Chi Square test at 95% confidence level (P <0.05) and logistic regression.
The results showed that there was a knowledge relationship with a value of 0.042 and a motivation with a value of 0.028 significantly on the nurses' compliance in carrying out hand hygiene. The results of the logistic regression test analysis showed that the most dominant variables affecting nurses' adherence in doing hand hygiene were the motivation variables at the odds value ratio (B) 2,363.
The conclusion of the study that the variables that most dominantly influence nurses' adherence in doing hand hygiene are motivation variables. It is recommended to the hospital to be able to provide support and rewards for nurses who carry out hand hygiene compliance so that it is more compliant in doing hand hygiene.
