Abstract

Data from simeulue district health office in 2017, the number of active family planning participants was 13,235 people with participants using IUD contraception by 4.1%. Many factors are thought to be the cause of the low use of IUD contraceptives, and researchers analyze the theory of Lawrence Green. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the low use of IUD contraceptives.
This type of research is mised methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This research was conducted in Simeulue District. The population in this study were 13,235 people, while the sample was 100 people. Quantitative data analysis was carried out in Univariate, Bivariate using Chi square and Multivariate using multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (α = 0.05), while qualitative data analysis with data reduction, data presentation and data verification.
The results showed that the factors that influenced the low use of IUD contraceptives were lack of knowledge, husband's support and support from health workers (p <0.05), while factors that did not influence health attitudes and promotion. The most dominant variable related to the use of IUD contraceptives is the variable support of health workers. Health personnel support variables have Exp (B) = 10,605 (95% CI = 2,140-52,540) meaning that respondents who have the support of health workers have the opportunity to use IUD contraceptives 10.6 times higher than informants who do not get support from health workers .
It is suggested to the health office to promote IUD family planning programs, especially for pus mothers who have not become family planning acceptors, so that prospective family planning acceptors in Simeulue district can increase.
