Abstract
Menarche is the first menstruation experienced by every teenager. Many teenagers are confused, anxious, scared, anxious, embarrassed, withdrawn from the community. Many people don't know about menarche, to improve the knowledge and attitudes of young women, researchers give health education about menstruation in
Facing menarche. This study aims to see the effect of health education on menstruation on the knowledge and attitudes of young women in dealing with menarche in Medan PAB 2 Medan.
This research is a quantitative study using pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test design approach. The population in this study were seventh grade young women who had not experienced menstruation, which was obtained through a total population of 39 people. Data analysis using Paired sample t-test
The results showed that the knowledge of teenage girls before being given health education had an average value of 57.05 an increase to 79.23 after being given health education. The same results showed the attitude of teenage girls before being given health education with an average value of 20.97 an increase to 26.33 after being given health education. Statistical test results obtained p value = 0,000 (<0,05).
The conclusion of this study is the influence of health education about menstruation on the knowledge and attitudes of young women in the face of menarche. It is hoped that schools will provide health education, especially reproductive health.
