Abstract
Contraception is one of the contraceptive methods that is used to prevent pregnancy mostly given orally. Contraception contains the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Side effects of ontraceptive used are an increased risk of impaired blood pressure circulation. Side effects in increased blood pressure need special attention because if for a long time will cause hypertension.The purpose control pills with hypertension in BPM Rista, S.Tr.Keb In Klambir V Medan Sunggal Distrit in 2018.
The Research design used an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach that tries to explore and why the phenomenon occurs. The sample in this study amounted to 48 respondents with sampling techniques that were taken by using the total papulation.
The results showed that there were 22 mothers who were using ≤ 6 contraceptive birth control pills, the majority of those without hypertension (normal) were 14 people(29,2%), while from 26 mothers who used contraceptive pills >6 months the majority of those who experienced mild hypertension were 10 people (20,8%), the results chi square test from data analysis showed that thr value of sig p = 0,002<0,05, which means there ia a sgnificant relationship abaou contaceptive of brith control pills usage with hypertension.
The conclusion of this research is the relationship between contraceptive use with hypertension in di BPM Rista S.Tr.Keb Kebidanan in Klambir V Medan Sunggal District in 2018.Therefore, it is expectedthat health workers as implementers of family planning services need to improve the quality of health services especially regarding contraceptive method by providing information to the KB acceptors abaout the disadvantages and benefits and side effects after a long time using hormonal and nonhormonal contraception.
