Abstract
Immunization has proven to be one of the most important public health efforts. The report from the North Kosik Putih Health Center in North Padang Lawas District recorded that there were 52 basic infant immunizations (63.9%) of the target babies who will receive complete basic immunizations of 76 babies and in 2017 59 babies (73.8%) of the target of 80 baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants that influence maternal behavior in providing basic immunization to infants in the working area of the Kosik Putih Health Center in Padang Lawas Utara Regency in 2019.
This type of research is an analytic survey with cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all mothers who brought their babies for basic immunizations in the working area of the Kosik Putih Health Center in Padang Lawas Utara Regency in 2019 totaling 59 mothers using total sampling. Data analysis in this study used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis with logistic regression.
The results of the study with logistic regression showed the value of sig in the knowledge variable (p = 0.003), attitude (p = 0.018), social culture (p = 0.271), availability of health facilities (p = 0.376), affordability of health facilities (p = 0.472), support for health workers (p = 0.030) and support from husbands (p = 0.725). The variable with the largest Exp (B) value is knowledge (39,565).
The conclusion of this study is that the variables that influence behavior in providing basic immunization to infants in the working area of the Kosik Putih Health Center in Padang Lawas Utara Regency in 2019 are knowledge, attitudes and support of health workers, and the most influential variable is knowledge. It is recommended to health center staff, especially midwives, to actively educate every mother who gives birth and infants who have not received basic immunization.
