This research was experimental methods. The manufacture of California Papaya extract is obtained by stripping, washing, cutting, and filtering. The study was conducted at Semi-Solid Formulation Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health in May-August 2019.
The results showed formulation of peel off gel mask with California Papaya extract as an active ingredient, after testing the results of organoleptic test results did not change in color, the pH test results ranged from 6.7-7.0. it is safe to use, the results of the homogeneity test of the mask have a homogeneous arrangement, the results of irritation test on 4 volunteers do not cause skin irritation, the results of the dry time test range from 15-20 minutes have good drying time and the results of the preferred concentration test of 15% more loved by volunteers.
The conclusion of the research is Papaya extract can be formulated in gel mask preparations with a concentration variation of 5%, 10% and 15%.
