Abstract

Background: Midwives in health services have an important role in reducing maternal and child mortality. According to the Health Ministry in 2014, the biggest causes of death in 2010-2013 remained the same; bleeding (30.3%), hypertension (27.1%) infections (7.3%), Prolonged labour (1.8%), Abortion (1.6%) and others (40%). Objective: This study aims to determine factors related to placental retention at Rizky Ananda maternity clinic in 2019 Methods: Design of this study was analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The study population was all maternity women in Rizky Ananda Maternity Clinic as many as 355 people were recorded in the clinical medical records in January-December 2018. The sample of this study used the purposive sampling technique which had criteria of 78 maternity women recorded in the medical record in 2018. The data used secondary and Tertiary data. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal age p=.027 <a=.05 and POR=6.949, parity was obtained p=.006 <a=.05 and POR=3.061, pregnancy spacing obtained p=.021 <a=.05 and POR=7190 birth history obtained p=.027 <a=.05 and POR=6.949 means that Ha was accepted. Conclusions: in this study indicated that there is a significant relationship between age, parity, pregnancy spacing and previous history with placental retention at Rizky Ananda Maternity Clinic in 2019. Suggestions to the health workers to provide the best health services.
