Abstract
The high rate of population growth is a problem faced by Indonesia. The Uterine Contraception Device (IUD) is one of the most effective and safe long-term contraceptives compared to other contraceptives. IUD is very effective in controlling the population growth rate because the level of effectiveness of use is up to 99.4%. The purpose of this study was to determine the related factors of fertile age women insterest in the use of IUD contraception at Kutalimbaru Health Center in 2018.
The type of this study is an analytical survey with a cross sectional design that is to determine the factors related to the interest of fertile age women in IUD contraceptive use at Kutalimbaru Health Center in 2018. The populations of this study were 5224 women. The data was collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed using Chi-Square test.
The results showed that there was a relationship of knowledge with the interest in the use of IUD contraception with the results of calculations p value = 0,000 <α = 0.05, there was a relationship of education with interest in the use of contraceptive IUD results of calculations p value = 0,000 <α = 0.05 and there was a relationship support age with interest in the use of IUD contraception with the calculation results p value = 0.005 <α = 0.05. And there was no relationship of income and interest in the use of IUD contraception with the results of the calculation p value = 0.166> α = 0.05.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between knowledge, education, age and no income relationship with fertile age women interest in the use of IUD contraception at Kutalimbaru Health Center in 2018. It is recommended for local health workers to provide information about the IUD in the Health Center through cross-program collaboration or with related institutions.
