Abstract

Hormonal contraception of this type of injection contraception in Indonesia is increasingly being used because of its practical use, the price is relatively cheap. The contraception used also has weaknesses and negative impacts on a woman such as menstrual cycle irregularities and menstrual disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the irregularity of menstrual cycles for 3-month injectable contraception acceptors in Teungoh Drien Gogo Village, Padang Tiji District in 2019.
The design of this research was an analytic survey with Cross-Sectional approach. The location of this research is Teungoh Drien Gogo Village, Padang Tiji District, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. The population in the research study were all three injecting contraception acceptors amounted 61 respondents and all of them were used as research samples. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and analyzed with chi-square statistical tests at the .05 significance level.
Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that age with a value of p = 0.000, duration of use with a value of p = .001, history of comorbidities with a value of p = .022 and compliance with repeat injections with a value of p = 0.000. Multivariate test results revealed that repeated injection adherence greatly influenced the occurrence of menstrual cycle disorders compared with the age of the respondent, duration of use, and history of comorbidities.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between age, duration usage, history of comorbidities and re-injection compliance with those that affect the irregularity of the menstrual cycle of 3-month injecting contraception acceptors in Teungoh Drien Gogo Village, Padang Tiji District in 2019.
