Abstract

Background: Maternal and child health problems are national problems that need to get top priority because they determine the quality of human resources in future generations. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the factors that most influence on prolonged labor. Methods: The study design was an analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all mothers who gave birth for a long time at the General Hospital as many as 94 respondents. The sampling technique uses total population that is the entire population is sampled. Data collection with primary, secondary and tertiary data. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis, with chi-square test Data were analyzed using (univariate), (bivariate) chi square test, and (multivariate) multiple logistic regression tests. Results: Showed that from the bivariate analysis, the variables that affected labor were age (p = 0,000), parity (p = 0.015), birth weight (p = 0,000) and the results of multivariate analysis, the factors that most influenced the long delivery were variables baby's weight is born with p (sig) 0,000 and has an Exp (B) value = 21,750. Conclusion: of the study is that there is an influence between age, parity, weight of babies born to prolonged labor in Aceh Tamiang District Hospital and there is the most influential factor, namely baby's birth weight towards prolonged labor.
