Abstract

Formulations of Solid Soap Preparations from Ethanol Extract of White Part Rind of Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsumura & Nakai) with
Honey Combination (Mel depuratum)
Soap is a surfactant that is used with water for washing and washing. The white part rind of a watermelon contains substances that are highly needed by the skin, containing citrulline which is one of the antioxidants. Watermelon rind contains, namely vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, and vitamin C. Honey is Ingredients that contain high antioxidants and vitamin C. The purpose of this study is to find out how ethanol extracts of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsumura & Nakai) with honey combination (Mel depuratum) can be formulated according to the rich soap preparations. The method used in this study is an experimental method that tests solid soap formulas from watermelon ethanol extract in combination with concentrations of 3%, 4%, and 5%. What was done in this research included organoleptic test, pH test, irritation test, and foam height test. The results showed that the preparation of solid soap, organoleptic test showed that the white blank, distinctive aroma, solid texture, formula I coated in light brown, distinctive aroma, solid texture, formula II coated in chocolate, distinctive aroma, solid texture and formula III so brown old, distinctive aroma, and solid texture. Solid soap preparations made have a pH in the range of 9-11. Irritation test for volunteers shows all preparations do not cause irritation reactions. In the high foam test it has a foam height of 59.2% -66.6%. The conclusion of this research is the ethanol extract of watermelon rind (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsumura & Nakai) with honey combination (Mel depuratum) can be formulated using soap ingredients that are suitable for organoleptic, pH test, irritation test, and high trial.
