Abstract

Cosmetics are beauty products that can be used skin care that serve to protect from the outside. Facial masks in the form of peel-off gel are used to brighten facial skin, maintain skin’s youthfulness, and protect it from free radical damage. Carrot contain antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin A and pure honey contain vitamin C. Objectives; This study aims to determine the manufacture of peel-off gel masks using carrot extract (Daucus carota L.) combination of pure honey (Mel depuratum). Method; The research method used experimentally that was doing organoleptic test, pH test, homogeneity test, spreadability test, dry time test, irritation test, and preference test. The formula made was carrot juice combination of pure honey with a concentration of formula 1%:0.5%, 3%:1.5% and 5%:2.5%. Result; The results showed that the peel-off gel mask form on organoleptic test showed differences in the color i.e clear F0, F1 turbid colored, light orange F2, and orange F3. Peel-off gel mask form have a pH range of 5.5-6.2. Homogeneity test showed homogeneous form. Scattering power of the mask ranges from 5.4 to 6.5 cm. Peel-off gel mask form have a dry time of 5-15 minutes. The irritation test on volunteers did not show any irritation reaction. Preference tests based on color, odor, and texture parameters showed that volunteers prefer 5% concentration. Conclusion; The conclusion of carrot extract and pure honey can be formulated in a gel peel-off mask form and the voluntary test showed that the peel-off gel mask of carrot juice combined with pure honey with a concentration of 5% is most preferred.
