Abstract
Sibling rivalry is a feeling of jealousy, and hate that is experienced by children against the birth or presence of siblings. Parenting is a way for parents to treat children, educate, guide and discipline and protect children in achieving the process of maturity, to the efforts to form the norms expected by society at large. Objective: This research aims to find out the relationship between parenting and sibling rivalry in children under five in Labuhan Bakti subdistrict, Simeulue Regency in 2019. Methods: This type of research was an analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach. The population was mothers who have children aged 1-5 years as many as 32 people with a total population sample technique. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate with the chi-square test. Results: showed that of 32 respondents the majority of parenting parents were quite 19 respondents (59.4%), the majority of toddlers who experienced sibling rivalry were 22 respondents (68.7%). Chi-square test shows there is a Parent Parenting Relationship with Sibling Rivalry, with a significant value of .037 < .05. Conclusion: of this study is that there is a relationship between Parenting Parents and the incidence of Sibling Rivalry in toddlers in Labuhan Bakti of Simeulue Regency in 2019.
