Abstract

Pineapple contains ananasic acid, citric acid, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols and bromelin enzymes. Besides pineapple also contains vitamin C and vitamin A (Retinol). The gel has the ability to moisturize with ingredients that contain lots of water, has a cool effect that is good for use in hot weather and is suitable for oily skin. Objective: This study was to determine the effectiveness of pineapple juice gel with a variety of concentrations in moisturizing the skin with concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7%. Method: The research method is experimental laboratory research. The working procedure consists of purposive sampling, plant identification, sample processing, gel preparation, evaluation gel preparation included in the tests of organoleptic, homogeneity, irritation, pH, dispersion t, viscosity and humidity using a skin analyzer.Result: The results obtained from the evaluation of gel preparation tests meet the requirements of the gel quality test parameters. In the moisture test, there was an increase in skin moisture every week, the higher the concentration the higher the moisture value, the highest value was seen at a concentration of 7% (F3) ie with initial skin conditions 23.2% to 90.4%, while in positive control ( KP) from 23.2% to 85.7% and from negative control (F0) to 22.3% to 61.9%. Conclusion: of this study it can be concluded that the formulation of pineapple extract gel (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) concentrations of 3%, 5% and 7% gives the effect of moisturizing the skin, the highest level of moisture is shown in pineapple gel with 7% concentration on the skin.
