Abstract

Mother's actions in giving gadgets to children are one thing that cannot be controlled. That the mother thinks can facilitate the mother in carrying out any homework and can be one part of the mother's parenting patterns in caring for children. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the actions of mothers in giving gadgets to children under five in Ceubrek Village, Lhoksukon District, North Aceh Regency in 2019.
This type of research is an analytical survey method with cross-sectional approach. The population is all mothers who have children under five in Ceubrek Village as many as 417 mothers with a sample using 81 random sampling techniques. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with chi-square test statistics and multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression test statistics.
The results of multivariate analysis showed that the p value of each variable included knowledge (p = 0.361), attitude (p = 0.013), income (p = 0.780), employment (p = 0.005) and education (p = 0.030) towards maternal actions in giving gadgets to children under five in Ceubrek Village, Lhoksukon District, North Aceh Regency in 2019.
The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence between attitude, work and education on the actions of mothers in giving gadgets to children under five. and there is no influence between knowledge and income on the actions of mothers in the provision of gadgets to children under five in Ceubrek Village, Lhoksukon District, North Aceh Regency in 2019. The most dominant variable affecting the actions of mothers in giving gadgets is work. It is expected that mothers can help with the provision of gadgets to children because of the important role of mothers in supervising children in playing gadgets that can be dangerous for children.
