Abstract

Lipstick is a cosmetic preparation used colouring the lips with an artistic touch that increases the aesthetic value in makeup. One an example that can be used as natural colouring is red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and flower beads (Canna hybrid L.) because they contain anthocyanin pigments that function as colour pigments.
The research method was carried out experimentally, samples were extracted using maceration method, 70% ethanol solvent for red dragon fruit and 96% ethanol for rosary flowers then concentrated with a rotary evaporator made 3 lipstick preparation formulas with concentrations of F0 (0%), FI (20%:20%) and FII (22%:20%), testing includes phytochemical tests, physical quality checks and investigators.
Phytochemical test results of red dragon fruit extract and flower extract of rosary test positive flavonoids produce orange-yellow colour, alkaloid test with positive bouchardate reagents produce chocolate deposits, testing the quality of F0 lipstick preparation has the aroma of oleum green tea, white colour and smooth texture, FI aroma that is positively produced a distinctive, soft dark brown colour with a smooth texture and FII produces a distinctive aroma, deep dark brown colour and smooth texture. preparations have a homogeneous arrangement, an average pH of 5.53 - 5.26, preparations with good rubbing power are FII, do not cause irritation, and the most preferred concentration is FII.
Conclusion Red dragon fruit extract and rosary flower extract can be used as a colouring agent in lipstick preparations. Variation in the concentration of dye of red dragon fruit extract and rosary flower extract used in the formulation results in differences in the colour intensity of lipstick preparations seen visually. Lipstick with FI concentration is soft dark brown, and FII is dark dark brown.
