Abstract

The low level of compliance of ED nurses to SOP in carrying out each nursing action can have an impact on the decline in the quality of hospital services and can pose obstacles to the development of the nursing profession. The study aimed to Analyze Nurse's Compliance with the Use of Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SPO) in the Emergency Department at Subulussalam City Regional General Hospital in 2018.
The research design uses a qualitative approach. The informants in this study consisted of key informants, namely the Head of the Emergency Department, and the Nursing Department while the main informants in this study were 12 nurses in the emergency department. The technique of analyzing data was done by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions/verifications.
The results showed that from 12 informants, the majority of the results of interviews with the main informants on average from them had implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in carrying out nursing actions, while from key informants namely the Head of the ED said the SOP implementation in the emergency department had been running with good, but if there was an SOP emergency patient it is not fully running. Whereas from the Head of Nursing Department said that 90% of the staff in the emergency department already had an emergency certificate, so on that basis it was very easy to convey SOP socialization.
The average conclusion of the informants already knew about SOP and the results of direct observation with observations about Nurses' Compliance on the Use of Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) obtained from 12 actions there were 8 actions carried out in accordance with the SOP. It is expected that there will be a follow-up from the management of Subulussalam City Regional General Hospital to provide periodic socialization at least once every month to nurses regarding the SOP of nursing actions.
