Abstract

Tuberculosis is still a health problem in the community. Based on the initial survey, the high error rate caused the number of TB case finding in Simeulue Regency to be low at 53.3%, while the target for> 70%. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that influence the reading error of laboratory tests on suspected tuberculosis and the error rate value.
The research design used in this study was Cross Sectional. The population in this study were 40 people and the sample taken by total sampling was 40 people. Data collection methods are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used is binary logistic regression test.
The results showed that knowledge (sig-p 0.020), duration of work (sig-p 0.019), workload (sig-p 0.023), microscope conditions (sig-p 0.044) and phlegm characteristics (sig-p 0.018) had an influence on reading errors from laboratory tests on suspected tuberculosis and error rate values, while training status (sig-p 0.698) and health worker information (sig-p 0.224) did not have any influence. The most dominant variable influences reading errors from laboratory tests on suspected tuberculosis and the error rate value is the characteristic of sputum with a value of B (3,873).
The conclusions in this study are the influence of knowledge, duration of work, workload, microscope conditions and phlegm characteristics have an influence on the reading errors of laboratory tests on suspected tuberculosis and error rate values, while the training status and information of health workers have no influence. For the Health Office, this research is expected to be an input for planning in health policy, especially in the management of tuberculosis prevention programs and reduce the occurrence of error rates in laboratory examinations of suspected TB.
