Abstract

Background; Red beet (Beta vulgaris L) is included in the family of Chenopodiaceae, the community uses as food ingredients such as salads and juices. The beetroot is of the golden colour which has enough strong flavour. Beets also have many health benefits and are also useful for using one of the cosmetics as natural nails. The nail polish is a cosmetic ingredient that is used to colour the nails so that they appear to improve the appearance of every woman. Objectives; The cuttings are softened and smeared with part of the nails and nail polish, most of which contain synthetic dye, which aims to give attractive colours and not to health care. Makers can make nail colours from natural ingredients. Method; The method of research carried out is an experimental method with parameters. Nail colour preparation methods consisting of several compounds in the same as polymerolrolidion, turbid resin, oil distance, alcohol, as well as the addition of red beet extract with concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. Testing and testing with the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, irritation test, hedonic test. Results; obtained from the organoleptic test are the four formulas having a distinctive odour and a red colour with thick liquid. From the homogeneity test obtained by the results of the four formulas, there are deposits. At pH, it is obtained from between 4.0-5.5, and in the irritation, test itching is difficult on all four formulas. Conculations; Beet extract is used as an ingredient in nail colour formulation. The increase in the concentration of the extracted bit used in the formula increases the colour produced on the nail polish.
