Abstract

Injectable contraceptive are hormonal contraceptives which the side effects trigger appetite and increase body weight, population and family planning data in 2017, percentage of injection contraceptive use 29.0%. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of age, diet, physical activity, husband's support and duration of use with weight gain in injectable contraceptive acceptors at Batahan Health Center, Batahan Sub District, Mandailing Natal District. Method: The design of this study is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The research location was at Batahan Health Center, Batahan Sub District, Mandailing Natal District. The populations of this study were all mothers who use injectable contraception as many as 761 mothers and 88 mothers. The datawere analyzed using univariate and bivariate. Result : The results of the study using chi square test showed that there was a relationship between age and p value of 0.000, diet with p value of 0.049, physical activity with p value of 0.007, husband's support with p value of 0.036, duration of use with a p value of 0.000 with weight gain in injectable contraceptive acceptors. Conclusion : That there is the relationship between age, diet, physical activity, husband's support, duration of use and weight gain in injectable contraceptive acceptors at Batahan Health Center, Batahan Sub District, Mandailing Natal District. It is expected that this research can be an evaluation material to continue to improve and maintain health services.
