Abstract

Cosmetics are women's needs. One of the cosmetic products that is used especially for women is lipstick. The coloring material used by lipstick is usually in the form of synthetic dyes that may be harmful to health, now the dye changes from synthetic materials to natural dyes. In this case red dragon fruit extract and fragrant pandan are used. The purpose of this study was to make lipstick form using red dragon fruit extract and fragrant pandan which can be used as a dye in the formulation of lipstick form with concentrations of red dragon fruit 0%, 35%, 40%, 40% without the addition of food coloring and pandan fragrance concentration of 0% , 1%, 1%, 1% and knowing the concentration of lipstick that gives the most preferable.
The research used is experimental research, the tests was done on the form made include organoleptic examination, homogeneity, pH of the form, topical test, irritation test and preference test.
The results showed that lipstick produced a basal pH of 5.7 concentrations of 35% with the addition of koepoe food coloring (Erythrosin Cl) which was 4.6 concentrations of 40% with the addition of koepoe food coloring (Erythrosin Cl) which was 4.1 concentrations of 40% without the addition of dyes. Food is 4.1 and did not cause irritation so it was safe to use.
Red dragon fruit extract and fragrant pandan can be used as a dye in the formulation of lipstick form. After testing the preference of the panelists from the 4 lipstick form formulas, it shows that the formula of concentration of dragon fruit F2 was 40% and 1% fragrant pandan was the most preferable.
