Abstract
Implants are long-term hormonal contraceptives that have high effectiveness, but many women of fertile age couple rarely use implants. The purpose of this study was to determine the related factors to the low use of implants birth control on women of fertile age couple at Desa Kutomulyo, Biru-biru Sub District, Deli Serdang District.
This study uses Analytical Survey with Cross Sectional approach. The population of this study were 223 fertile women at Desa Kutomulyo, Biru-Biru Sub-District, Deli Serdang District, then reduced by using Slovin formula and sampling technique using acccidental sampling to 69 people. Technique of data collection in this study was using primary data, then analyzed by using the Chi-Square Test.
The results in this study were knowledge with p = 0,000 (<0,05), parity p = 0,012 (<0,05), husband's support p = 0,000 (<0,05), so there was a relationship of knowledge factors, parity and support husband with low use of Implant birth control.
The conclusion in this study shows that there is the related factor to the low use of Implant birth control on women of fertile-aged couples at Desa Kutomulyo, Biru-Biru Sub District, Deli Serdang District in 2018. Therefore it is expected to use this study to be an input to contraceptive services, especially implant birth control so that the people want to use the Implant contraception devices.
