Abstract

Health care organizations (HCO) must provide medical support services appropriately, quickly and effectively. The survey results that the Simeulue Regional General Hospital is still lacking maintenance of office buildings that are not good, waste management and environmental hygiene around hospitals that are still dirty and placement of employees that are not in accordance with disciplines in the Medical Support Performance. The research objectives is to analyze the affecting factors on the performance of medical support at Simelue Regional General Hospital.
The research of this study is analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The populations in this study were 33 people with a total population sample of 33 medical support staff. The data analysis was done by using univariate, bivariate and multivariate data.
The results showed that there were significant relationships between ability/competence-value variables (P = 0.015 <0.05), experience (P = 0.000), leadership (P = 0.032), promotion policy (P = 0.002) and motivation (P = 0.001) with medical support performance. In multivariate analysis there were 2 variables that affect the the performance of medical support namely experience (P = 0.035) and promotion policy (p = 0.038), but promotion policy was the most dominant variable in affecting medical support performance (Exp (B) = 91,562).
Factors that affect the performance of medical support were experience and promotion policies. This was due to the experience and promotion policies will be more encouraging and facilitate in completing each task. It is expected that medical support staff can improve their experience by attending trainings or seminars related to their main tasks and functions as well as the promotion policies given as an effort to improve the performance of medical support.
