Abstract
The coverage of childbirth assistance by health workers with midwifery competencies in 2014 tended to increase, namely in 2011 reaching 86.38%, and in 2014 the coverage of childbirth assistance by health workers in Indonesia had reached 96.88%. However, the increasing coverage of childbirth assistance by health workers in Indonesia has not been offset by an increase in deliveries in health services. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to the selection of place of delivery in pregnant women in the third trimester in the working area of the Tuhemberua Health Center in Tuhemberua, North Nias District in 2018.
This research is an analytic survey with cross sectional design using secondary and primary data. The research was carried out in the working area of the Tuhemberua Health Center, Tuhemberua District, and North Nias Regency. The population in this study was 311 pregnant women. The sample in this study was 76 pregnant women using simple random sampling with Slovin formula. Data analysis was carried out by univariate, bivariate using chi-square.
The results showed the selection of place of birth at home as many as 44 (57.9%) respondents and the choice of place of delivery in health facilities as many as 32 (42.1%) respondents, there was a significant relationship between factors
