Abstract
Many young women assume that vaginal discharge is a natural thing, it's not true. Leucorrhoea that is not prevented by good hygiene can lead to infectious diseases of the reproductive organs. Leucorrhoea is usually caused by a bacterial fungus or virus which of course this problem is very disturbing to the sufferer. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between vulva hygiene in adolescent girls with leucorrhoea at SMA Negeri 1 Teunom, Aceh Jaya District in 2018.
This research is an analytical survey using the Cross Sectional approach. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Teunom, Aceh Jaya Ditrict in September 2014. The populations in this study were all female adolescents of SMA Negeri 1 Teunom, the population of this study were 181 female students. Using the Slovin formula, a sample of 64 students was obtained and used Stratified Random sampling technique.
The results of this study were obtained from 64 respondents, there were 47 respondents who performed hygiene vulva well (73.4%), there were no vaginal discharge 42 respondents (65.7%), there was vaginal discharge of 5 respondents (7.9%) while those who did vulva hygiene were less as many as 17 respondents (26.6%) who did not have vaginal discharge as much as 2 respondents (3.1%) and there were vaginal discharge 15 respondents (23.4%). There was a significant relationship between the hygiene and leucorrhoea SMA Negeri 1 Teunom, Aceh District Jaya in 2018 with a probability value <0.05.
The conclusion in this study shows that there is a significant relationship between vulva hygiene in adolescent girls with leucorrhoe at SMA Negeri 1 Teunom, Aceh Jaya District. It is suggested to the principal of SMA Negeri 1 Teunom to work together with health workers to provide more in-depth health education about Leucorrhoea.
