Abstract
The hospital as a place of health services by paying attention to aspects of human health and the environment which includes physical hygiene, solid waste, liquid waste, clean water. So that waste must be treated before being discharged into the environment. The research objective is to obtain an overview of the liquid waste processing system and the results of quality inlet and outlet inspection liquid waste.
This research was conducted using a descriptive survey method, to see the description of liquid waste processing system at Hidayah General Hospital, by observation, interviews and library sources, then the results of laboratory tests were adjusted to the quality standard No.P.68/Menlhksetjen/Kum.1/8/2016.
Based on the analysis of laboratory test results conducted at Medan Institute of Environmental and Disease Control Engineering, of the five parameter samples there were two parameters that exceeded the quality standard, namely (BOD) with the outlet examination results 31, 46 mg /L, this value exceeded the quality standard the percentage is 30 mg/L, and (Total Colifrm) with the results of checking the outlet> 16000/100 mL, this value exceeds the required quality standard of 3000/100 mL.
It can be concluded that the liquid waste processis system was still not done optimally. It is expected to the hospital to pay more attention to the handling of liquid waste properly, and the addition of experts to handle and supervise the installation of hospital liquid waste precessing, as well as checking the results of waste outlets to the laboratory regularly in once a month.
